The Erasmus+ project LeaFaP set out to strengthen school development and student learning by focusing on the professional development of teaching staff, including student teachers.

Working with Professional Learning Communities, the project improved the conditions for inquiry, reflection and innovative practice in diverse groups of educators. It developed a research-based extension of the PLC concept with a clear account of qualified leadership and facilitation, produced a collection of activities for PLC work, published self-run online training for PLC leaders and facilitators in five languages, and ran a series of online and hybrid events for networking and professional exchange.

Together, these outputs equip teaching staff to establish and sustain PLC in European schools — and remain freely available beyond the project’s lifetime.

Its core results are an extension of the PLC concept grounded in international research and in the reported needs of practitioners, a set of didactic activities for developing PLC work, and a modular online training course for PLC leaders and facilitators. All outputs are available in English and in the partner languages.

Beyond these materials, the project shared its findings in educational and scientific forums, strengthened the partners’ profiles in PLC research and digital pedagogy, and connected a wide network of schools, teacher education institutions and educational stakeholders across Europe.
